I hate when the kids and I want to watch a movie only to find out that it is DVD only. When it was only a couple of bucks more a month, there was temptation to add DVDs to the account. Now it would be more than double. No thank you.
It would be interesting to see how much Netflix pays the studios for DVDs. And how big a part those purchases are as a part of overall DVD sales. The studios want control and streaming doesn't fit their schemes.
So is Netflix trying to get rid of DVDs? It would be sweet if this boosts the offerings that are available via streaming.
